About the Role

As a Mergers and Acquisitions Tax Manager, you will work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution. You will develop new skills, coach Associates and Senior Associates, and act to resolve issues that prevent the team from working effectively. You will also analyze complex ideas, use multiple sources of information to develop solutions, and uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Responsibilities

  • Coach others, recognize their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development.
  • Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations.
  • Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations.
  • Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm's/client's expectations.
  • Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making.
  • Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients.
  • Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties.
  • Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points.
  • Uphold the firm's code of ethics and business conduct.

Requirements

  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard
  • Ability to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing environment
  • Excellent capacity to take initiatives and to take ownership of a project
  • Ability to think creatively, solve complex problems, determine innovative solutions and communicate with impact
  • Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment
  • Proven and practical experience in M&A Tax.
  • Keen interest on Technology and AI
  • Experience in corporate and/or international tax research, Cross-border transactions/or consulting and compliance in a professional services firm, industry, government agency or law firm is an asset
  • A commitment to providing excellent client service and pride in delivering top quality work.
  • When applying to a Quebec based opportunity, fluency in French is required. Outside of Quebec, fluency in French is an asset
