About the Role

The Territory Sales Lead (TSL) ensures flawless execution of store-level sales and promotion plans with customer retailers in an assigned territory. This role focuses on high-volume food chain grocers and mass merchandiser customers, driving incremental sales, implementing promotional and merchandising strategies, and ensuring full distribution of Hershey items.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain consultative business relationships with customer Key Decision Makers (KDMs).
  • Partner with KDMs to develop and execute action plans to increase sales.
  • Leverage strategic relationships to influence and negotiate customer assistance in merchandising Hershey products.
  • Obtain and analyze store, product, and market data to identify trends and build the business.
  • Utilize pre-call planning methods and company tools.
  • Review and recommend modifications to routes to maximize business efficiencies.
  • Solve problems by analyzing information, utilizing consumer trends and customer insights.
  • Engage in forward selling using consultative sales techniques and provided resources.
  • Maximize sales and display opportunities through store walk-throughs and KDM commitment.
  • Tailor strategies to influence KDMs to order additional products and secure optimal merchandising locations.
  • Achieve merchandising objectives by executing customer-specific promotional plans.
  • Build, maintain, and execute product placement on the sales floor.
  • Maintain permanent secondary displays and other display vehicles.
  • Complete and submit reports of daily and weekly activities, expenses, competitive activity, account changes, and promotions.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid US state-issued driver’s license.
  • Must reside or be willing to commute within territory boundaries.
  • Must be able to drive to make multiple sales calls daily.
  • Must be able to lift 10-60 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to bend, kneel, stoop down, and demonstrate manual dexterity on a frequent basis.
  • Occasionally climb ladders.
  • Occasionally use equipment such as crushing balers and handheld electric trucks.
  • Must be able to use a tablet and other wireless technology.
  • Some roles will require an intermediate level of computer skills with Microsoft Office products.
  • Must have daily access to wireless internet.
  • Must have flexibility and adaptability to changes in territory coverage.
  • Occasional weekend work may be required during peak seasons.
  • Select territories may require occasional overnight stays.

Salary/Compensations

  • $54,000 base salary
  • Additional compensation may include overtime & incentives
