About the Role
This position is responsible for all operations in their specific area, including maintaining fixtures and vents, moving and maintaining heavy kitchen equipment, and assisting with repairs. The role also involves preparing tableware, washing dishes and equipment, removing garbage, mopping floors, and distributing company assets. A key aspect is ensuring the quality and efficiency of service within assigned areas, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Report to work on time, well-groomed in full uniform with badge.
- Keep work areas clean and organized.
- Handle tasks appropriately and notify supervisors of any problems.
- Use proper cleaning chemicals for the correct task.
- Pick up daily checklist for the kitchen area.
- Prepare tableware for washing, including scraping plates and presoaking silverware.
- Set up the dishwashing machine, ensuring correct levels of water and detergent.
- Wash dishes and kitchen equipment using appropriate methods.
- Clean dishwashing equipment and working areas.
- Collect all soiled pots.
- Wash and restock clean pots on shelves.
- Remove garbage and refuse.
- Mop and sweep floors.
- Wash walls and ceiling tiles.
- Sanitize all cooking equipment.
- Adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Maintain a neat personal appearance and uphold company appearance standards.
- Perform detail cleaning of kitchen and peripheral equipment.
- Maintain a current understanding of information security policies and procedures.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all patrons.
- Communicate in a pleasant, friendly, and professional manner.
- Maintain a professional work environment with supervisors, managers, and staff.
- Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
- Complete all required SGC Training programs within nine months of employment.
- Attend all necessary meetings.
- Monitor and ensure quality and efficiency of service at assigned area(s).
Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Some knowledge of kitchen hoods and electrical is a plus.
- Previous customer service experience is preferred.
- Must possess excellent communication skills.
- Ability to speak effectively to the public, employees, and customers.
- Ability to deal effectively and interact well with customers and employees.
- Ability to resolve problems/conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.
- Understand and comply with policies and procedures, daily memos, chemical labels, and other instructions.
- Must be able to stand, walk, and move through all areas of the casino for an extended period.
- Maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude to work under pressure in a fast-paced casino environment.
- Effectively deal with customers, management, employees, and the business community in all situations.
- Work involves moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Moderate physical activity is required.
- Handling of objects up to fifty pounds.
- Work environment involves some exposure to physical risk, which requires following basic safety precautions.
