About the Role
Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Technician for their Central Dispensary team on the 1st shift. This role is crucial in enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer by supporting the development of solutions for global challenges. The position is based in Grand Island, NY, within the BioProduction Group.
Responsibilities
- Weigh, measure, and check raw materials using a computer interface to ensure accurate batch composition.
- Calibrate and operate manual, semi-automated, and automated manufacturing equipment.
- Identify and troubleshoot common equipment failures.
- Adhere to all safety practices, policies, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in controlled environments, including clean rooms.
- Participate in safety, quality, and productivity discussions.
- Assist with project ownership and action tasks.
- Solve problems using departmental knowledge.
- Complete and maintain compliance with Quality Management Systems and regulatory requirements.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for documentation and practices within the department.
- Perform complex manufacturing tasks related to cell culture media production.
- Perform related duties as required to meet business goals.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment is required.
- General understanding of technical, mechanical, and machinery equipment is required.
- Ability to push, pull, lift, and move up to 50 pounds.
- May be required to stand for extended periods.
- Ability to squat, bend, and reach for items.
- Ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Availability to work overtime and flexible shift patterns.
Skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail for complex instructions and documentation.
- Proficiency in completing and training others in multiple processes in a fast-paced work environment.

Salary/Compensations
- $20.93–$34.88 per hour
- $18.84–$28.26 per hour
