About the Role
The Electric Boat fiber-optic engineering team designs, qualifies, integrates, and tests the fiber-optic cable system (FOCS) on US Navy submarines. Engineers provide support throughout the development stages to ensure timely completion of critical construction milestones. This role requires interfacing with NAVSEA, government vendors, and various Electric Boat departments daily, demanding exceptional communication and organizational skills. The team also serves as Electric Boat’s Fiber-Optic Center of Excellence, offering general fiber-optic expertise.
Responsibilities

Requirements
- Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Physics
- 1-5 years of post graduate engineering experience
- Experience in fiber optics
- Experience with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Project, Visio)
- Experience in system/component development
- Experience in project management
- Experience with Teamcenter / NX
