About the Role

Sony Music's Product, Design, Engineering & Global Operations (PDEGO) team is looking for a Product Manager to join our RoyaltyShare product team. You'll help shape the future of the platforms that power one of Sony Music's most critical business capabilities—processing, calculating, and distributing royalties to artists, songwriters, publishers, and partners around the world. Working closely with Engineering, Product Design, Finance, Royalty Operations, and business stakeholders, you'll help modernize complex workflows, simplify business processes, and deliver scalable product solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and transparency across our royalty ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Engineering and Design to define and deliver the product roadmap for Sony Music's RoyaltyShare platform
  • Translate complex business, financial, and operational requirements into clear product requirements and user stories
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, technical complexity, and platform health
  • Lead Agile ceremonies and work closely with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Royalty Operations, Finance, Product, and Engineering to understand pain points and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Gather user feedback and operational insights to continuously refine product direction
  • Help define success metrics and monitor product performance using quantitative and qualitative KPIs
  • Participate in product releases, rollout planning, change management, and adoption activities
  • Clearly communicate priorities, roadmap updates, and product decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Support the modernization of legacy royalty systems through incremental product improvements and platform enhancements

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of Product Management experience delivering complex software products, preferably enterprise or internal platforms
  • Experience managing products from discovery through delivery and ongoing iteration
  • Strong experience working closely with engineering teams in Agile environments
  • Excellent prioritization skills with the ability to balance customer needs, technical constraints, and business priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience using data to inform product decisions
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for business audiences
  • Experience creating product documentation including user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and roadmap documentation
  • Experience collaborating across multiple stakeholder groups to build alignment and drive execution
  • Comfortable working with technical teams and understanding system architecture, APIs, and software development concepts
  • Interest in learning the complexities of music royalty accounting and rights management
  • Experience building enterprise SaaS, financial systems, ERP platforms, accounting software, or other workflow-driven applications
  • Experience working with complex business domains involving financial transactions, payments, or large-scale operational processes
  • Familiarity with data platforms and modern data technologies such as Snowflake, SQL, or analytics tools
  • Experience with platform modernization or legacy system transformation initiatives
  • Experience defining KPIs and measuring operational improvements through product analytics
  • Strong understanding of workflow optimization, process automation, and operational efficiency
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across multiple regions and time zones
