About the Role

Join Apple to help deliver the next groundbreaking product. The UK GPU team works on IPs that are part of Apple’s world-class GPU designs for Apple Silicon SoCs. You will be at the centre of a chip design effort working with all disciplines, with a critical impact on getting high performant products to millions of Apple customers efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Creating comprehensive verification plans and contributing to test bench development.
  • Implementing key components of our verification flows.
  • Sharpening debugging skills while tackling complex testbench and design challenges.
  • Building GPU models.
  • Running intensive graphics workloads on GPU models.
  • Debugging and resolving potential issues in GPU models.
  • Contributing to the infrastructure workflow for graphics emulation.
  • Exploring automation portals that integrate various areas using modern web user interfaces and sophisticated backends.
  • Engaging with different teams that use emulation for functional, performance, and power verification.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Must return to school to continue education after the internship, or the internship must be the last requirement for graduation.
  • Strong coding skills with C or C++.
  • Strong understanding of common data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Curiosity about GPU / CPU / SOC architecture and micro-architecture.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Perl, Python or Ruby.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team and be productive under tight schedules.
  • Familiarity with SystemVerilog / Verilog / VHDL.
  • Prior experience with hardware description languages.
