About the Role
The Lead Teacher is responsible for providing a safe and developmentally appropriate program in accordance with all relevant policies and procedures. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing a quality program that is within the guidelines set forth by the center and all governing bodies.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a developmentally age-appropriate preschool program.
- Create a classroom environment in accordance to goals and philosophy.
- Builds children’s esteem and provides a secure, safe environment.
- Follow the given curriculum that promotes literacy and pre-kindergarten readiness skills.
- Lead, manage, and delegate tasks in the classroom to classroom staff as appropriate.
- Communicates effectively with parents.
- Ensures classrooms and equipment are well maintained, clean and safe.
- Provides Monthly newsletter detailing weekly activities and curriculum to parents.
Requirements
- Must have a satisfactory background check per NY Statewide Central Register Database and NYS Justice Center standards.
