About the Role

This role involves operating diagnostic imaging equipment, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring high-quality care and patient comfort. The technologist will collaborate with a medical team across multiple locations to deliver exceptional service.

Responsibilities

  • Address all members, staff, and visitors in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner.
  • Provide personal protective equipment in accordance with safety standards and policies.
  • Assist with quality control duties and assignments.
  • Operate Cat Scan, DEXA, and diagnostic X-ray equipment.
  • Prepare and position patients for CT scanning, DEXA, and radiographic procedures, ensuring modesty, confidentiality, and privacy.
  • Prepare IV solution sets and contrast agents for administration.
  • Perform complex tasks associated with operating high field strength magnets and related equipment.
  • Position patients for MR scans using immobilization and protective equipment.
  • Screen patients for MR safety prior to procedure performance.
  • Evaluate MR scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and label appropriately.
  • Explain proper preparation to patients prior to procedures and obtain necessary signatures.
  • Contribute to and maintain good working rapport with all personnel.
  • Assure that patient rights are maintained.
  • Contribute to an atmosphere of warmth and positive emphasis.
  • Report all unsafe conditions or defective equipment to the supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain work and assignment areas in a neat, safe, clean, and orderly fashion.
  • Assist with training new employees.
  • Handle stressful and emergency situations with a calm demeanor.
  • Demonstrate the ability to set priorities and maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Maintain and compile records and reports as necessary.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program or equivalent hospital-based program.
  • Possess a current ARRT certification and State license for the specified location with IV injection permission.
  • ARRT Certification eligible in MRI or Cat Scan and/or Bone Densitometry.
  • BLS certification.
