About the Role

The Academic Administrator will play a key role in supporting the effective delivery of academic activity within the School of Foundation Degrees. This role involves providing high-quality administrative support, coordinating activities, managing priorities, and supporting academic projects. The position utilizes digital tools to ensure smooth day-to-day operations and contributes to a positive working environment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating meetings and events, including scheduling, minute-taking, and managing documentation

  • Raising purchase orders and checking data accuracy

Requirements

  • Proven experience providing administrative support within a professional environment, including supporting senior stakeholders
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively under pressure
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of stakeholders
  • High level of attention to detail and a methodical approach to work, with the ability to work independently
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with the confidence to use initiative and improve processes where appropriate
  • Ability to monitor progress, follow up on actions, and manage data effectively
  • Good understanding of financial administration processes
  • Experience of working with sensitive information and a strong understanding of data protection requirements (e.g. GDPR)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience of working in a similar role in a higher education/other educational institutions (Desirable)
  • Knowledge of key current issues within the HE sector (Desirable)
  • Experience in SharePoint management as well as knowledge around VLE platforms (Desirable)
