About the Role

This role focuses on implementing detailed plans and recommending policies/procedures to support business objectives, operational requirements, legislative compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Chief Financial Officer's Office, Strategic Enterprise Integration & Mod division.

Responsibilities

  • Implement detailed plans and recommend policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
  • Conduct research into assigned areas, including workforce data, considering industry developments, corporate policies, legislation, and government initiatives.
  • Provide input into and administer assigned budget, ensuring expenditures are controlled within approved limits.
  • Execute test cases, user acceptance testing, validation strategies, and quality assurance activities for HR and payroll systems.
  • Execute integration and regression activities, identifying risks related to system readiness and business objectives.
  • Document, log, and track defects, inconsistencies, system issues, and data anomalies, completing follow-up activities.
  • Conduct retesting activities, validate corrective actions and system enhancements, evaluate results, and confirm issue resolution with management.
  • Validate time and attendance information, scheduling data, payroll inputs/outputs, and system reports for compliance and accuracy.
  • Assist with scheduling workflows, time entry and approval processes, and payroll processing flows.
  • Validate system functionality against business rules, legislative obligations, organizational policies, and collective agreement provisions, documenting and escalating issues.
  • Support investigation of system, process, or data issues and determination of root causes.
  • Support discussions with business analysts, service representatives, technical teams, vendors, project partners, and operational leaders.
  • Provide regular updates on assigned tasks, milestones, and work progress to partners.
  • Maintain testing documentation, including test execution results, defect records, validation findings, and issue logs.
  • Validate highly confidential information related to payroll, disability management, workforce planning, labour relations, compensation, and organizational restructuring.
  • Exercise discretion and maintain strict confidentiality when accessing sensitive workplace matters and supporting organizational initiatives.
  • Research provisions of the Employment Standards Act, Income Tax Act, OMERS requirements, privacy legislation, and collective agreements.
  • Gather position and organization structure information regarding system impacts associated with collective agreement implementation, restructuring, and workforce adjustments.
  • Handle confidential testing data in SAP and SuccessFactors, including employee records, compensation, and organizational structures.
  • Liaise with People & Equity staff and client divisions when validating organizational structure, position data, and labour relations initiatives.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting, testing, validating, and implementing Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), Payroll, Workforce Management, Time and Attendance, or related enterprise business systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with SAP, SAP SuccessFactors, workforce management, payroll, and/or human capital management systems.
  • Proven experience conducting system testing, including User Acceptance Testing (UAT), integration testing, regression testing, pay comparison testing, defect tracking, and validation activities.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, workforce management practices, scheduling, time and attendance, organizational structures, and position management.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulatory requirements, including Employment Standards Act, Income Tax Act, privacy legislation, pension administration requirements, and collective agreement provisions.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate system and data issues, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.
  • Experience interpreting business requirements and validating system functionality against business rules, operational needs, and legislative requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately analyze, validate, and maintain highly confidential employee, payroll, compensation, and organizational data.
  • Excellent organizational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and provide regular progress updates.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with business analysts, technical teams, vendors, project stakeholders, HR professionals, and operational leaders.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive workforce, labour relations, compensation, and organizational information.
  • Experience working in a unionized environment and interpreting collective agreements would be considered an asset.
  • Professional payroll, HRIS, project management, business analysis, or testing certifications would be considered an asset.
