About the Role
Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities. We are hiring an Employment Specialist in Syracuse, NY to coach persons with developmental disabilities, prepare them for employment, develop essential job skills, and assist in job placement.
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance for people with disabilities to be placed in competitive employment.
- Coach individuals with disabilities to develop independent job skills.
- Work side-by-side with individuals with disabilities at job sites.
- Reinforce essential skills or teach new skills such as resume development, successful job interviewing, and completing job applications.
- Accurately complete all documentation.
- Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned.
- Cooperate with license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Two years of full-time work experience in supporting people with disabilities.
- Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
- Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.
