About the Role
Peppercomm seeks a Vice President (VP) to drive day-to-day account responsibilities and deliver communications results across B2B, fintech, and financial services accounts. The ideal candidate is news-obsessed, scrappy, trend-focused, curious, entrepreneurial, a lifelong learner, data-driven, and an excellent listener, striving to exceed client expectations.
Responsibilities
- Serve as an account lead across multiple client accounts, developing strong client relationships and providing counsel.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of clients' businesses, products, markets, and influencers to develop strategic public relations programs.
- Develop and implement client programs and campaigns from inception to execution.
- Drive earned media through significant media relations efforts, including data-driven story development and maintaining media relationships.
- Conduct proactive media outreach leveraging traditional and digital channels for PR programming.
- Stay informed about media coverage within client industries to identify newsjacking opportunities.
- Contribute creative and innovative ideas to brainstorms, client programs, new business presentations, and internal initiatives.
- Oversee multiple workstreams, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
- Create engaging content, including press releases, pitches, articles, and social media copy.
- Lead and engage the account team on client activities and projects.
- Support agency business development efforts, including RFPs, proposals, and pitch teams.
- Provide strategic advice on programs and measurement analytics.
- Mentor and coach junior staff members.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, journalism, or a related field.
- 8+ years of PR agency or in-house experience in public relations/communications.
- Strong experience in earned media and across multiple client verticals.
- Strong and reliable industry relationships with media.
- Ability to multitask and manage multiple deadlines across various accounts.
- Proven ability to write strategic documents clearly, concisely, and persuasively.
- Critical thinking and strategic problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated experience supporting new business efforts, including identifying growth opportunities and collaborating on pitch development.
- A “never quit” attitude and a great sense of humor.
