About the Role

The Center for Disability Services is seeking a Speech Language Pathologist for a preschool setting at our Glenville Clover Patch. Join us in our mission to make a difference and shape a more inclusive future for individuals with disabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Provides quality speech-language pathology therapy services.
  • Assesses current level of function.
  • Develops and implements an appropriate treatment plan.
  • Maintains complete and accurate clinical documentation.
  • Reviews and cosigns documentation completed by Clinical Fellows and students as assigned.
  • Communicates with physicians, IDT members, caregivers, and vendors, and specific to Education Speech-Language Pathologists with school districts, and county service providers.
  • Evaluates treatment outcomes and modifies treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintains clinical and professional knowledge base.
  • Writes necessary scripts and communicates diagnoses with physicians/medical professionals.
  • Complies with Federal, State, and local legal and professional requirements.
  • Supervises assigned Clinical Fellow candidates and/or student interns.
  • Maintains all continuing education requirements for licensure.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree (Masters) in field of Speech-Language Pathology.
  • New York State Licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • NYS Teaching Certification as a TSHH (Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped) or TSSLD (Teacher of Students with Speech and Language Disabilities).
  • American Speech-Language Hearing Association Certificate of Clinical Competence is required for all who supervise student interns and Clinical Fellowship candidates.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
