About the Role
The Assistant Coach for Men’s Lacrosse is responsible for providing assistance and support for the conduct of a comprehensive, high quality NCAA Division I Men’s Lacrosse program, within the guidelines of all rules and policies established by the department, the institution, the NEC Conference, and the NCAA. This position requires daily and/or weekly duties and tasks assigned by the head coach, consisting of 65% instructional and 35% recruitment/administrative activities.
Responsibilities
- Assist program in compliance with all applicable NCAA, conference, and institutional policies, rules and regulations.
- Assist with timely submission of all compliance related work flows through ARMS.
- Maintain open and responsive communications with the Associate Director of Compliance.
- Maintain up to date certification in all required areas (NCAA DI Institute Modules, 1st Aid/CPR/AED Training, Valid Driver’s License, Van Training, etc.).
- Assist the Head Coach with the submission of budget requests, documentation, receipts, and related forms.
- Assist leading and supporting the College Enrollment Management priorities through partnership, participation, and meeting goals with Enrollment Management initiatives.
- Assist the department with its gender equity planning and the satisfaction of all Title IX legislation.
- Assist head coach with responding to all requests for information from prospective student-athletes, coaches, parents, and/or friends of prospective student-athletes.
- Assist head coach with solicit information from and distribute information to eligible prospective student-athletes and coaches and or parents or friends of prospective student-athletes.
- Assist head coach with developing and distributing appropriate recruiting materials, publications and information.
- Assist head coach with maintaining accurate and comprehensive recruiting records of all prospective student athletes.
- Participate on committees and attend College functions/events.
- Participate with department committees, as elected or assigned.
- Attend all departmental meetings, unless excused in advance.
- Assist head coach with providing the appropriate academic support, assistance, motivation and environment for student-athletes.
- Become familiar with appropriate academic resource and assistance programs available to student-athletes.
- Assist head coach with monitoring the academic progress of student-athletes from current class work to graduation.
- Understand current institutional academic standards and policies.
- Assist head coach with working with appropriate personnel to determine needs for the organization, coordination, and scheduling of all home and away contests.
- Submit all paperwork, schedule meetings and respond to all information requests from athletic trainers and team physicians.
- Assist head coach with coordinating with Head Strength/Conditioning Coach on the conduct of a comprehensive training program.
- Respond to all information requests and work with the media, etc.
- Inform the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Communications when you or any of your athletes has been contacted by the media.
- Assist head coach with fund raising activities.
- Assist head coach with identifying and cultivating a community partnership with a service-based organization.
- Attend and participate in conferences if assigned by head coach.
- Work cooperatively with all members of the Athletic Department and other campus or community office/agency.
- Demonstrate and role-model all of Le Moyne’s mission-based competencies.
- Strengthen digital literacy skills through education and the application of digital technologies.

- Complete all required federal, state, institution and department trainings.
- Engage in a planned program of professional development.
- Perform a variety of related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of progressive experience in the conduct of a collegiate level Men’s Lacrosse program with proven success in recruiting high quality student athletes and/or equivalent related experiences.
- Knowledge of and ability to apply NCAA and NEC conference rules as they pertain to the men’s lacrosse program.
- Must be First Aid/CPR/AED certified and complete all required NCAA DI Institute modules prior to participating in off campus recruiting activities and countable athletically related activities.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills needed.
- Must possess a valid, current U.S. driver’s license.
- Must have reliable transportation or the ability to rent a vehicle when needed to travel to recruiting sites.
- May need to drive campus vehicles for local events.
