About the Role
The Administrative Assistant role at Horizon focuses on providing essential support within a welcoming, team-oriented environment. You will create meaningful connections with patients, support their recovery journey, and contribute to a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Answer and route incoming calls, take messages, and provide information and assistance.
- Perform administrative and office support tasks, including mail distribution, copying, scanning, supply ordering, and special projects.
- Welcome visitors, vendors, and staff, and guide them through the building.
- Interact with patients and their families with compassion, professionalism, and respect for diverse cultural, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Effectively prioritize responsibilities and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines in a busy environment.
- Work collaboratively as a member of a team while also demonstrating the ability to work independently.
- Exercise sound judgment, discretion, initiative, and flexibility in responding to daily operational needs.
- Learn, understand, and adhere to Horizon's policies, procedures, and privacy and confidentiality requirements.
- Prepare and manage correspondence, reports, forms, and other documents using Microsoft Office applications and office technology, while adapting to new software and systems as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma with 2 years of experience within an office-setting customer service or business administration field required.
- Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting.
- Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
- Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
