About the Role
Horizon Health Services is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as counselors. Responsibilities
- Attend trainings via a new state-of-the-art learning management system.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Build effective therapeutic relationships with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in weekly one-on-ones with supervisors and team meetings.
- Utilize evidenced-based practices such as CBT, DBT, and MI.
- Problem-solve with patients around practical obstacles to increase whole body wellness.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, care coordinators, and family members to enhance patient support networks.
Requirements
- CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor) Certification or higher plus a Bachelor’s Degree.
- Completed Master’s degree in a program that will grant licensure in the state of New York.
- Must be available at least 2 evenings per week.
- Sitting for extended periods, alternating between standing and sitting.
- Mobility required with repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements.
- Handling light duties, occasionally lifting objects up to 20 pounds.
