About the Role
We are looking for a skilled professional to join the workshop of Berliner Straßenbahn in Marzahn. This role is crucial for maintaining our tram vehicles and ensuring continuous service readiness.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance and repair work on components and systems in tram vehicles.
- Execute wheel profile correction using a CNC lathe (Sinumerik control).
- Undertake repairs and troubleshooting of tram vehicles and assemblies after technical malfunctions or accidents.
- Carry out removal, modification, and installation of new components during modernization projects.
- Conduct inspection and acceptance drives, if qualified.
- In operational service, troubleshoot vehicles on the track during passenger operation.
- Participate in recovery operations for damaged or derailed trams and assist with personnel rescue.
- Ensure continuous service readiness 24/7.
Requirements
- Completed vocational training in a metalworking trade (e.g., cutting mechanic, turner, industrial mechanic, locksmith, or comparable training).
- Knowledge of operating CNC-controlled machine tools.
- Experience in maintenance processes.
- Full fitness for shift work is a necessary requirement.
