About the Role

Lead and supervise engaging activities for children/youth ages 5-16, creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment. Plan and deliver lessons, organize recreational activities and field trips, and support special events that enrich and engage children.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the classroom and provide direct supervision to ensure a safe, structured, and engaging environment for all children/youth.
  • Develop and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities.
  • Organize, attend, and supervise field trips.
  • Coordinate and supervise team games and sporting events.
  • Lead arts and crafts projects.
  • Ensure children’s safety, participation, and engagement in all assigned activities.
  • Assist with events, fairs, holiday celebrations, and theatrical plays.
  • Maintain schedule flexibility, including occasional evening and weekend trips/events as needed.
  • Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • At least two years of direct experience working with children under age 13 years.
  • Experience or demonstrated skills in STEM, dance, sports or the arts preferred.
  • Competency in youth development and childcare.
  • Group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and respectfully with people from all walks of life.
