About the Role
This role involves covering lead teacher classes, ensuring a positive and inclusive classroom culture, and contributing to the overall mission of college success and civic engagement for scholars.
Responsibilities
- Cover all aspects of a lead teacher's class during their absence, including lesson planning, delivery, and grading.
- Ensure scholars experience a classroom culture of high expectations and high support.
- Create an inclusive classroom and school community through training, reflection, and dialogue on DEI topics.
- Plan and prepare for effective implementation of a coherent, research-based curriculum.
- Develop and use assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice.
- Maintain strong relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues through effective communication.
- Continuously improve professional practice through coaching and professional development.
- Cultivate scholar social-emotional well-being by building a positive classroom culture and partnering with families and support teams.
- Engage in whole-school events and tasks during long-term coverage assignments, as assigned by school leadership.
Requirements
- Graduate of a Bachelor’s degree program.
