About the Role

As a manufacturing associate in the Conditioning department, you will play a valuable role in ensuring materials and products meet customer expectations. The conditioning department is responsible for resurfacing material before it is sent to the mill or customer, as well as performing internal and external testing of material.

Responsibilities

  • Processing material by operating in the functions of peeler operator, band saw operator, cut-off saw operator, shot blast/grinder, polisher operator, and final inspection.
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to assist in set-up and running equipment.
  • Identify material coming into the department.
  • Maintain logs and records.
  • Follow prescribed safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and legible logs, records, and charts.
  • Operate heavy machinery such as forklifts and cranes.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least one (1) year of manufacturing experience
  • Basic math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure including whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to read a tape measure.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions.
  • Use of various tools ranging from common hand and power tools, saws, drills, and wrenches.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds, work in hot conditions and be comfortable working at heights up to 10ft.
