About the Role
AHRC NYC seeks a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee their Brooklyn Day Program, providing essential health services to neurodivergent adults.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties of a licensed registered nurse for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
- Maintain health records and disseminate proactive health information to staff and families.
- Train staff in OSHA, first aid, and medication support.
- Lead the team in health and safety initiatives.
- Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention in accordance with AHRC, ADS policies, OPWDD regulations, and professional standards.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews.
- Understand the Scope of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and required supervision.
- Supervise staff providing care, including AMAP's and LPN's.
- Support ongoing health in a non-clinical setting.
Requirements
- New York State License as a Registered Nurse required.
- Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
- CPR certified (AHRC can provide training if needed).
- Willing to oversee additional Brooklyn Day Programs.
