About the Role

AHRC NYC seeks a Full-Time Registered Nurse (RN) to oversee their Brooklyn Day Program, providing essential health services to neurodivergent adults.

Responsibilities

  • Perform duties of a licensed registered nurse for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Maintain health records and disseminate proactive health information to staff and families.
  • Train staff in OSHA, first aid, and medication support.
  • Lead the team in health and safety initiatives.
  • Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and therapeutic intervention in accordance with AHRC, ADS policies, OPWDD regulations, and professional standards.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and annual reviews.
  • Understand the Scope of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and required supervision.
  • Supervise staff providing care, including AMAP's and LPN's.
  • Support ongoing health in a non-clinical setting.

Requirements

  • New York State License as a Registered Nurse required.
  • Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
  • CPR certified (AHRC can provide training if needed).
  • Willing to oversee additional Brooklyn Day Programs.
