About the Role
Rippling Spend unifies corporate cards, reimbursements, procurement, bill pay, and travel into a single workflow. It connects directly to accounting and payroll, enforcing policy, approvals, and accounting in real time to allow finance teams to operate proactively. This role involves building deeply integrated platforms that replace fragmented tooling.
Responsibilities
- Craft exceptional platform solutions that will benefit multiple teams to create a seamless user experience.
- Be hands-on in technical architecture and act as the liaison between product leadership, engineering leadership, and technical workstreams.
- Tackle complex engineering challenges, leveraging expertise to devise ingenious solutions.
- Assume clear ownership of projects, making impactful decisions and driving successful implementation.
- Play a pivotal role in leading and mentoring highly talented engineers across Spend Management.
- Immerse yourself in one of Rippling's newest and most influential products, becoming a true authority and contributing to its ongoing development.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong track record in backend development and distributed systems.
- Proven ability to design large-scale, fault-tolerant systems from scratch.
- Understanding of the trade-offs between consistency and availability.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguity and identify business problems, scope technical solutions, and execute.
- Intellectual curiosity to master the complex domain of treasury and money movement.
- Deep proficiency in a modern backend language (Python, Go, Java, etc.).
- Experience with complex data modeling (SQL/NoSQL).
