About the Role
Bunch is seeking a (Senior) Finance & Accounting Manager to oversee daily financial operations, including preparatory accounting, spend management, and client invoicing. This hands-on role offers direct exposure to a fast-growing fintech's finance function and the opportunity for growth within the team. Senior candidates with extensive experience may be considered for a Senior Manager position.
Responsibilities
- Handle preparatory accounting, including cost center and cost unit assignment, on both creditor and debtor sides.
- Manage exports to external accountants in all jurisdictions.
- Own spend management processes, including weekly invoice review and approval.
- Manage credit card and employee reimbursement.
- Set up direct debits and ensure timely bill payments.
- Run quarterly and annual invoicing across all products and jurisdictions.
- Reduce manual effort in invoicing by improving and automating the setup.
- Track client payments and flag overdue accounts.
- Support the monthly close by coordinating with external accountants.
- Ensure timely delivery of monthly and annual accounts.
- Support regular tax filings, such as VAT, across entities.
- Conduct monthly payroll reviews and act as the internal point of contact for payroll-related questions.
- Address financial employee policies such as expense reimbursement.
- Support equity financing rounds, including due diligence and data room preparation.
- Handle one-off banking and insurance needs.
Requirements
- At least 2-4 years of experience in an in-house finance role, reputable consultancy, or completed training as a tax clerk or accountant.
- Mastery of accounting fundamentals.
- Familiarity with common tax issues in a multi-jurisdictional company.
- Hands-on experience with accounting, billing, and spend management tools (e.g., DATEV, Stripe, Moss, Spendesk) or similar systems.
- Highly organized and reliable with a track record of owning recurring processes independently.
- Genuine interest in process optimization and automation.
- Strong attention to detail and quality orientation.
- Proactive, solution-oriented mindset and comfort handling new responsibilities.
- High level of ownership, reliability, and flexibility.
- Fluency in English (C1+ level).
- At least B1 in German.
