About the Role

Lead hospitality at the highest level in a historic villa directly on Lake Wannsee, managing accommodation, gastronomy, and events for international guests from science, politics, business, and art. This role offers predictable working hours and a unique work-life balance in the upscale hospitality sector.

Responsibilities

  • Overall responsibility for accommodation, gastronomy, and events as a cohesive guest experience – qualitatively, organizationally, and economically.
  • Lead, develop, and empower your team, ensuring stable, forward-looking personnel planning, and be present yourself when needed.
  • Ensure excellent, service-oriented support for our fellows and guests – from accommodation and gastronomy to receptions and dinners.
  • Responsible for budget planning, cost control, and controlling for your area, managing it cost-consciously and efficiently in a donation-funded environment.
  • Mediate and negotiate confidently between different areas of the house – from management to specialist departments – and check additional event requests for feasibility, lead time, costs, and responsibilities.
  • Secure the knowledge of the house built up over years through a structured handover and visibly develop the structure, processes, and standards of your area.

Requirements

  • At least 10 years of experience in upscale hotel or gastronomy, or comparable fields with the highest demands on hospitality and service quality.
  • Several years of management experience with proven strengths in leadership, motivation, conflict resolution, and clear, goal-oriented communication.
  • Practical experience with budget creation, cost control, and measurable control parameters – manage your area independently as your own unit.
  • Broad and deep operational expertise across accommodation, gastronomy, and events – and the willingness to pitch in yourself when necessary.
  • Excellent German and English (C2 level) – both are indispensable in the transatlantic daily life of our house. Other languages are a plus.
  • Confident understanding of international, discerning guests and structures, especially in the US context.
  • Strong-willed yet calm, discreet, reliable, empathetic – with a positive demeanor, hands-on mentality, and a passion for genuine hospitality.
  • Completed gastronomic or commercial apprenticeship; a supplementary degree (e.g., Hotel or Hospitality Management) is advantageous.
