HOACNY provides cancer care services, Monday through Friday, day hours at three convenient locations in East Syracuse, Camillus and Auburn. Responsibilities
- Assist in organizing, coordinating, and supervising all aspects of infusion and dispensing pharmacy services.
- Oversee, prepare, or dispense commercially available and investigational antineoplastic drugs.
- Assess medication orders.
- Assist with patient care activities including planning, updating, and implementing antineoplastic and antiemetic drug regimens.
- Monitor patients’ response to drug therapy and fluid and pain control medications.
- Recommend changes or alternative therapy.
- Provide drug-related information.
Requirements
- Ability and willingness to work with potential exposure to toxic drugs and infectious patients.
- Ability to operate a computer.
- Ability to maintain records and files.
- Ability to work with precision and accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Skills
- Organizational skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Knowledge of clinical retail pharmacy operations
