About the Role

The Recruiter is responsible for a range of activities that showcase George Brown Polytechnic’s 200+ programs to diverse prospects. As a first point of contact for potential students, the Recruiter connects and engages with prospective students throughout the prospect to applicant conversion and admission funnels.

Responsibilities

  • Showcase George Brown’s 200+ full-time degree, diploma, certificate and apprenticeship programs.
  • Identify prospective domestic students, and their interests and career goals.
  • Nurture prospective students through the process to becoming a student.
  • Promote GBC as a pathway to further studies after program completion.
  • Connect with prospective students using various methods and at different stages of the recruitment funnel, representing GBP positively and professionally.
  • Deliver on an event schedule, including making travel and accommodation arrangements, preparing marketing collateral, and setting up/tearing down displays.
  • Guide students, teachers, principals, guidance counsellors, and parents/guardians on post-secondary and career options.
  • Assist with on-campus and off-campus events, including the Ontario College Fair (OCF).
  • Deliver presentations in various settings, such as small groups, tours, and high school events, both in-person and online.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Three-year diploma or degree in Marketing, Human Resources, or a related field, or equivalent.
  • Valid Province of Ontario Class G driver’s license.
  • Minimum five years of experience in sales/marketing, public relations, advising, or recruiting, preferably in a post-secondary education setting.
  • Experience building and maintaining relationships and engaging/influencing groups and individuals.
  • Experience communicating in front of audiences of up to 100 individuals.
  • Ability to work with a flexible schedule to accommodate events, with potential overnight travel.
  • Ability to lift between 20 kg or 44 lbs (e.g., boxes, marketing/display units).
