About the Role
Humber River Health is seeking a Dietary Aide to join their Food Services team. This role is crucial in creating a fresh, restaurant-style menu for patients, focusing on well-being and nutritional needs. The department aims to create a healthy and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Tray passing, diet changes, and preparation/portioning of food items.
- Regular cleaning and sanitation of work areas and department equipment.
- Washing dishes and cooking equipment in the dish room and pot wash room.
- Removing garbage, recycling, and slop from the department.
- Safely and properly handling cleaning chemicals.
- Ensuring all kitchen areas are stocked with clean wares.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ontario Secondary School diploma, equivalent, or higher education.
- Good command of the English language (reading and writing test administered).
- Minimum of 3 years of hospital food service experience.
- Knowledge of safe food handling and HACCP preferred.
- Food Handlers Certificate required.
- Ability to lift, pull, and push weights of 25lbs or more frequently.
- Positive attitude and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to changing work routines or priorities.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision; must be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative.
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities.
- Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
- Excellent attendance and discipline-free record required.
