About the Role

R+L Carriers has an immediate opportunity for Diesel Mechanics at our Tonawanda, NY Service Center. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for day-to-day equipment maintenance on our fleet equipment consisting of preventative maintenance and minor to major repairs to Class 8 trucks, trailers, and potentially forklifts. This can include maintaining trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, dollies, and welding.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day equipment maintenance on fleet equipment.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Perform minor to major repairs on Class 8 trucks, trailers, and forklifts.
• Maintain trailers, overhead doors, lift gates, and dollies.
• Perform welding as needed.

Requirements

• Experience in preventive maintenance and repairs on diesel engines.
• Ability to handle major repairs.
• Experience with AC and Electrical systems.
• Ability to lift 50lbs.
• Must possess own tools.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Cummins & Detroit engines.
• Experience using Cetaris for work orders.
• Experience in Trailer PMs and repairs.
