About the Role
Pinsent Masons is seeking a Resource Manager for an initial 6-month fixed-term contract to support partners and senior fee earners within the RAS Group. This role involves identifying capacity and ensuring effective work allocation across national teams, acting as a trusted advisor on strategic workforce planning and resourcing.
Responsibilities
- Act as a trusted advisor on strategic workforce planning and resourcing.
- Work closely with partners, senior fee earners, and operational leaders to understand current and future requirements.
- Use knowledge of lawyers' capabilities, experience, and development needs to support effective resourcing decisions.
- Balance utilization and ensure priority work receives appropriate support.
- Resolve competing resource demands.
- Identify potential capacity issues.
- Collaborate with flexible resource, paralegal, and legal project management teams.
- Support recruitment planning.
- Support lawyer development.
- Support the implementation of systems and processes for monitoring and reporting capacity and utilization.
Requirements
- Proven resource management or workforce planning within a complex professional services environment.
- Demonstrable experience of influencing and negotiating with senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial and operational business acumen, with the ability to make effective decisions using sound judgment.
- Experience of resolving resource conflicts and managing competing business demands.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and present it in a clear and accessible format.
- Experience of introducing change, implementing new ways of working, or improving resource management processes.
- Previous law firm experience or experience within an international professional services organization is advantageous.
- Knowledge of BigHand and Power BI is advantageous.
