About the Role
USS Wind LLC is seeking experienced Level 3 Blade Repair Technicians to conduct advanced inspections and perform repairs on wind turbine blades, while also leading field teams. This is a travel-intensive, project-based position requiring technical expertise, leadership, and a commitment to safety and teamwork.
Responsibilities
- Inspect and document internal and external blade damage, including photographic evidence and detailed reporting.
- Perform coating and structural repairs on blades, including leading/trailing edges, tips, and internal components, following engineering guidelines.
- Work at heights (up to 300 ft) using platform systems.
- Complete and submit accurate service reports and Daily Work Reports (DWR) using mobile systems.
- Review and submit repair documentation to Operations and Engineering teams.
- Communicate site progress and issues with internal teams and clients.
- Support Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures on wind turbine generators.
- Assist with site setup, including coordination of labour and materials.
- Perform rigging and de-rigging tasks as required.
- Follow all safety procedures and participate in hazard assessments and safety meetings.
Requirements
- Full GWO Certification (BST, ART, BTT)
- Arc Flash / NFPA 70E
- Confined Space & Rescue
- Respirator Fit Testing
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Experience in blade repair, composites, or similar mechanical work
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Comfortable working at heights and in varying weather conditions
- Team player with excellent communication skills
- Valid driver’s licence with a satisfactory record
- Ability to pass a background check
- Ability to travel extensively across the U.S.
- Physically capable of performing job duties
- Legally allowed to work in the USA.
