About the Role

Build enterprise cloud infrastructure that provides European data sovereignty and hyperscaler-grade capabilities. You'll work on SAP Cloud Infrastructure, solving complex distributed systems challenges at scale, including multi-region networking, container orchestration, storage systems, and the APIs that connect them. Contribute to building a sovereign, privacy-first AI cloud for the European market that makes it easy to securely train, fine-tune, and deploy foundation and domain models with strict data residency and isolation.

Responsibilities

Build enterprise cloud infrastructure.
Solve complex distributed systems challenges at scale.
Work on multi-region networking, container orchestration, storage systems, and APIs.
Contribute to building a sovereign, privacy-first AI cloud for the European market.
Develop solutions using Go, OpenStack, and Kubernetes.
Tackle problems related to auto-scaling containers, resilient storage systems, and API design for massive traffic spikes.
Work with Kubernetes, Terraform, and cloud-native tooling to automate deployment and operation of platforms.
Create robust automation for multi-region deployments, traffic spikes, and high availability.

Requirements

1+ years of daily hands-on experience working with Kubernetes in production environments.
Experience creating and maintaining Helm charts or Kustomize configurations.
Experience managing Kubernetes cluster lifecycles (upgrades, scaling, troubleshooting).
Experience deploying shared platform components.
Experience with multi-cluster operations, ingress, service meshes, and cert-manager.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
Experience designing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines.
Proficiency in Go and Python for building complex automation workflows.
5–8 years in DevOps or infrastructure roles.
Demonstrated ability to design, operate, and evolve Kubernetes-based platforms at scale.
Proven ability to diagnose and resolve complex distributed system issues using metrics and tracing tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki).
Skilled in performance tuning, incident response, and automating operational resilience.
Experience working across cultures and languages with strong communication skills for diverse, distributed teams.
Eligibility for security clearance under German law may be required.
Successful candidates might be required to undergo a background verification.
