About the Role
The Global Compensation Services group, within KPMG's Global Mobility Service practice, utilizes market-leading technology solutions to assist clients in managing the global compensation collection process for internationally mobile employees, ensuring compliance with employer and employee obligations worldwide. KPMG offers an integrated, centrally managed global compliance process, including data collection, cleansing, validation, analysis, application of tax and social security positions, and payroll instruction outputs. The recently developed Global Payroll Manager (GPM) is a fully automated web-based solution designed to enhance cross-border payroll compliance, management reporting, recharges, and internal controls for globally mobile workforces. This dynamic group is poised for significant expansion and market share growth.
Responsibilities
- Manage the team, overseeing data management including capture, manipulation, formatting, consolidation, validation, reconciliation, storage, analysis, and reporting.
- Utilize project management and implementation skills to transition clients to GPM.
- Enhance data capture, manipulate multiple data sources, improve processes, automate manual tasks, test new processes, and reconcile/validate data output.
- Oversee the capture, reconciliation, and reporting of global compensation through data analytics.
- Oversee the manipulation and mapping of data sources for payroll processing.
- Coordinate payrolls in the UK and/or multiple locations.
- Liaise with clients' HR, internal payroll, and outsourced payroll teams.
- Collaborate with the Tax Technology team to ensure best practices.
- Liaise with overseas offices to resolve queries and communicate them to clients.
- Contribute to process improvement and recommend areas for automation.
- Define tax rules to support effective technology builds.
- Take ownership of KPMG’s web-based client portal.
- Perform user acceptance testing.
- Manage the payroll process, including payroll instructions and funding reports.
- Handle responsibility loading, mapping, and downloading client payroll instructions to the global co-ordination database or GPM software.
Requirements
- Advanced Excel and Access skills are ideal.
- Tax technical knowledge in the global mobility space and cross-border payroll and withholding compliance is required.
- Implementation and project management skills are essential.
- Advanced Excel & Access database skills are essential.
- Experience in managing international assignees and overseas payroll is essential.
- Ability to manage multiple projects to strict deadlines is essential.
- Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills are essential.
- Disciplined in process documentation is essential.
