About the Role
Responsible for operations coordination and supervision of the Mutuels department in accordance with operational policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent guest service to internal and external guests.
- Actively support the company culture of creating a fun and entertaining experience.
- Create operating and capital budgets and adhere to them.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels by interviewing, selecting, training, evaluating, promoting, disciplining, and terminating associates.
- Create, execute, and budget for seasonal promotions.
- Coordinate investigations into the resolution of variances to ensure compliance with company policies and associate integrity.
- Manage the daily operations of simulcast and mutuels.
- Manage the schedules of the mutuel tellers.
- Communicate with United Tote and other vendors.
- Serve as the point of contact for all union disputes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Directly supervise Mutuel/Simulcast Staff.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
- Interview, hire, and train associates.
- Plan, assign, and direct work.
- Appraise performance, reward, and discipline associates.
- Address complaints and resolve problems.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Two to three years of supervisory/management experience required.
- Knowledge of horse racing, mutuels department, and simulcast contract preferred.
