About the Role

The Enterprise / Platform Architect will lead, facilitate, analyze, and design the technical architecture for insurance systems and associated platforms. This role defines the roadmap for platforms supporting nominal insurance, Lifetime care, and NSW lines of business, ensuring solutions align with approved strategies and reference architectures.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop platform architecture artifacts, including current state, future state, roadmap, patterns, blueprints, and domain landscape health, ensuring alignment with enterprise architectures and principles.
• Conduct high-level research and analysis to identify future trends, strategies, and policy priorities to support enterprise requirements.
• Engage with frontline users to understand and improve user experience with in-scope platform/domain technologies.
• Collaborate with the technology practice to foster knowledge sharing, drive excellence, and support solutions, ensuring enterprise architecture strategy realization at the platform/domain level.
• Lead the development of architecture heatmaps, conceptual designs, and solution designs, engaging other architects as needed.
• Provide platform/domain input into heatmaps and designs developed by other architects.
• Provide architectural direction to development teams, participate in project implementations, and monitor progress against enterprise and platform strategies.
• Work with internal and external providers to research, evaluate, select, test, and implement hardware and software systems.
• Ensure alignment of delivered solutions with published reference architectures and IT strategies.
• Participate in architectural governance forums to ensure appropriate design decisions.
• Lead the introduction of new technologies by understanding enterprise requirements and managing the technology selection process.
• Provide expert advice on the design and implementation of strategic platforms.
• Analyze IT organizational and sector strategic issues, aligning technology vision with business strategy.
• Review and provide input for continuous improvement of IT strategies and systems, recommending on alignment, risk, financial value, and contribution to organizational priorities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 15 years of experience in the IT sector.
• Minimum 8 years of architecture experience, ideally within the Insurance, Financial Services, and/or Government sector.
• Strong technical knowledge and understanding of platform/domain concepts.
• Broad range of experience with developing IT reference architectures and strategic roadmaps.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and communicating technical standards, policies, and guidelines.
• Broad experience in a wide range of information system technologies and technical architectures.
