About the Role
Cancer Research UK is seeking a motivated retail assistant to join their trading team. The role involves acting as an ambassador for the organization and taking keyholder responsibility for the shop on Sundays, supported by a dedicated team.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing the running of the shop on a Sunday, including keyholder responsibility and supporting volunteers.
- Assisting the wider shop team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
- Reviewing and processing donated goods and new stock.
- Generating new income through creative ideas, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
- Utilizing customer service skills to ensure customers and supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
- Maintaining shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health and safety.
- Performing manual handling and physical activity as part of daily duties.
Requirements
- Must be eligible to work in the UK.
- Working knowledge of excellent customer service.
- Experience in a lively and vibrant environment.
- Adaptability in changing situations, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commercial awareness.
- Ability to build relationships and communicate effectively.
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
