About the Role

We are seeking a Community Manager to join the Founders Forum Events team, focusing on growing and engaging our community. This mid-level, permanent role offers the chance to develop skills in tech, events, and community management.

Responsibilities

  • Research and onboard new members, ensuring CRM data accuracy.
  • Compile lists of potential invitees and speakers from various sources.
  • Curate VIP guest lists for premium events in collaboration with content and partnerships teams.
  • Monitor tech, business, and political news to identify new prospects.
  • Analyze database segments to identify growth opportunities using tools like Pitchbook and Dealroom.
  • Build and maintain Looker dashboards, provide status updates, and act on reports.
  • Write and adapt copy for different audience segments across various platforms.
  • Manage event registration sites on Swoogo, coordinate invitations, registrations, and handle inquiries.
  • Create community-facing event materials such as FAQ webpages, guest books, and name badges.
  • Act as an onsite community ambassador, building relationships with guests.
  • Troubleshoot in real-time to ensure a smooth guest experience.
  • Conduct post-event follow-up, feedback capture, and identify new relationships.
  • Contribute ideas for engagement, new formats, and adding value to the network.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a community, events, or relevant role.
  • Experience working in events.
  • Experience preparing and presenting research, reports, and data-driven insights.
  • Aptitude for data analysis and a natural curiosity.
  • Highly proficient writer with a creative knack for effective copywriting.
  • Problem solver who can pivot to find solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using AI tools like Claude to streamline work.
  • Highly proficient with generative AI Tools, data visualization tools, and MS Excel/Google Sheets.
  • CRM experience required (Salesforce or Attio experience is an asset).
  • Event Registration platform experience (especially Swoogo) is an asset.
  • Comfortable with gen AI tools and quick to learn new platforms.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes ownership and prioritizes well under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt quickly when workflows change.
  • Can work independently and take initiative.
  • Great at receiving and actioning feedback.
  • Team player happy to assist colleagues.
  • Highly detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Comfortable working independently and client-facing.
