About the Role

Wise is building a new Account Insights team to help customers understand and manage their money better. You will contribute to creating an entirely new network for the world's money, turning transactions into actionable insights.

Responsibilities

• Owning and building system components behind customer-facing insights features.
• Helping shape the roadmap and delivering large projects end-to-end.
• Driving incident response and owning short and long term mitigation steps.
• Writing high-quality tests and clear documentation.
• Reviewing code.
• Mentoring, onboarding, and coaching engineers.
• Contributing to wider engineering forums beyond your squad.

Requirements

• Owned a large, impactful backend project end-to-end, from technical design to production.
• Comfortable being accountable for the reliability, availability, and security of backend projects.
• Deep backend fundamentals.
• Solid grasp of distributed-systems concepts like asynchronous communication and event streaming.
• Written well-tested, high-quality code.
• Designed systems with a long-term view for scalability and iteration.
• Actively improved the surrounding engineering environment.
• Mentored and coached other engineers.
• Given and received feedback openly.
• Helped build a collaborative, inclusive team.
