About the Role
Trinity College London is seeking a Digital Workplace & AI Lead to establish and lead their AI and digital workplace capability. This role will shape how Trinity identifies, prioritizes, and delivers opportunities across AI, automation, and digital workplace, helping colleagues work more effectively and ensuring investment focuses on areas delivering measurable business value. You will build and manage a pipeline of opportunities, taking initiatives from discovery through to implementation and benefits realization. You will also lead capability-building programs like the AI Apprenticeship Programme, Digital Champions Network, and AI Academy, ensuring innovation happens responsibly with appropriate governance and controls.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead AI and digital workplace capability.
- Shape the identification, prioritization, and delivery of AI, automation, and digital workplace opportunities.
- Help colleagues work more effectively.
- Ensure investment is focused on areas delivering measurable business value.
- Build and manage a pipeline of opportunities from discovery to benefits realization.
- Determine which ideas should progress, be scaled, or stopped.
- Lead capability-building programs including the AI Apprenticeship Programme, Digital Champions Network, and AI Academy.
- Help colleagues develop skills and confidence in using AI and digital tools.
- Ensure innovation happens responsibly by embedding governance, security, data, and responsible AI controls.
- Work across Technology, Transformation, Product, Data & Insights, and business teams.
Requirements
- Experience leading AI, automation, digital workplace, or technology-enabled business improvement initiatives.
- Track record of turning emerging technology into practical, measurable outcomes.
- Confident operating across business and technology teams.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders to identify opportunities, challenge assumptions, and prioritize competing demands.
- Experience developing roadmaps, delivery pipelines, or capability plans.
- Strong understanding of organizational change, adoption, and practical considerations for sustainable AI/automation use.
- Sufficient technical understanding to work credibly with engineering, architecture, data, and security teams.
- Ability to make informed decisions about feasibility, risk, and value.
- Analytical, pragmatic, and highly collaborative.
- Ability to translate complex or emerging technology into clear business opportunities and practical delivery plans.
- Must include a short covering letter explaining relevant experience, especially in building new capabilities, working across business and technology teams, and turning emerging technology into practical outcomes.
- Must not have held an identical role previously.
- Cannot sponsor visas in the UK.
- Must complete vetting procedures including Right to Work in the UK, Identity Check, Employment History check, Financial Probity Check, Highest Academic Qualifications Check, and a basic DBS check.
