About the Role
You will be embedded with customers in operational environments, serving as the engineer they rely on when our systems are in use. Your work will involve debugging Linux systems, configuring and securing networks, and writing software to connect these components. You will directly address field problems and deliver fixes back to the operational teams.
Responsibilities
- Roll out and manage software updates to deployed systems over the network.
- Configure, secure, and diagnose networks, including live fault-finding.
- Debug Linux systems and connectivity issues in the field with limited time and tooling.
- Write and maintain Python software, tooling, and automation for the platform.
- Act as the technical point of contact for operators, translating field problems into fixes.
- Provide feedback on operational issues to the core engineering team for product hardening.
Requirements
- Proven experience shipping production software, with strong computer science fundamentals.
- Solid grounding in Linux and networking fundamentals with hands-on diagnostic experience.
- Track record of earning the trust of demanding end-users.
- Ability to work on-site in the West Midlands and travel to customer locations with autonomy.
- Eligible for UK DV clearance (UK national with 10+ years of continuous UK residency).
- Experience operating in deployed or operational environments (preferred).
- Familiarity with secure or air-gapped network architectures (preferred).
- Experience shipping software updates to deployed systems (preferred).
