About the Role

MOTOR Ai is dedicated to making Level 4 autonomous driving a reality by combining state-of-the-art AI with a multidisciplinary team. We aim to introduce the first certified autonomous driving solution in Germany, shaping the future of mobility.

Responsibilities

  • Design, train, and fine-tune machine learning models for autonomous driving use cases.
  • Integrate trained models into production systems, ensuring reliable, efficient, and safe operation.
  • Conduct structured experiments and evaluations to validate model performance.
  • Optimize models for latency, memory, and compute constraints in real-time systems.
  • Collaborate with data, perception, and simulation teams to ensure model quality and validation.

Requirements

  • Completed degree in computer science, machine learning, data science, or a comparable field, or equivalent vocational training/apprenticeship.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in applied AI/ML engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of deep learning and reinforcement learning.
  • Familiarity with Active Inference approaches is a plus.
  • Experience in the automotive industry and a track record of turning research into product features are advantageous.
  • Strong Python skills with solid ML fundamentals.
  • Hands-on experience with deep learning frameworks (PyTorch and/or TensorFlow).
  • Experience with reinforcement learning tooling (e.g., Stable-Baselines3, RLlib).
  • Experience with experiment-tracking tools (e.g., MLflow, Weights & Biases).
  • Experience deploying and optimizing models for production/real-time systems (e.g., ONNX, TensorRT, C++ integration).
  • Solid engineering practices: Git, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Docker, ideally Kubernetes).
  • Comfortable working with cloud/GPU compute environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and data tooling (NumPy, Pandas, SQL).
  • Experience with simulation environments such as CARLA and ROS/ROS2 familiarity are a plus.
  • An open-minded, curious mindset.
  • A valid driving license.
  • English C1 proficiency is required; German is a plus.
