About the Role

Seeking a passionate and highly skilled Perioperative Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) to provide expert clinical leadership and shape the future of perioperative practice, workforce capability, and patient care. This role involves advanced clinical leadership, expert consultation, and serving as a clinical role model to support safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate the ENT, Dental, Head and Neck patient journeys.
• Drive innovation, education, and service development in a highly specialized clinical setting.
• Influence the future of perioperative care.
• Provide advanced clinical leadership and expert perioperative consultation.
• Support multidisciplinary decision-making.
• Promote professional excellence.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement across perioperative services.
• Develop workforce capability through education, competency development, mentoring, reflective practice, and succession planning.
• Identify clinical capability needs and develop targeted education strategies.
• Support the ongoing professional growth of the perioperative team.
• Lead quality improvement, clinical governance, risk management, audit, and patient safety initiatives.
• Use clinical indicators and performance data to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Support accreditation, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, and corrective actions.
• Identify and implement improved models of care, clinical practices, technologies, and sustainable solutions.
• Drive initiatives that enhance patient outcomes, service efficiency, and workforce effectiveness.
• Champion infection prevention, patient safety, and evidence-based practice.
• Support the achievement of broader organizational priorities.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse registration with AHPRA.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in the ENT, Dental and Head and Neck specialties.
• Demonstrated experience leading and implementing quality improvement, patient safety or service development initiatives with measurable outcomes.
• Experience developing, delivering and evaluating education, training and mentoring programs.
• Demonstrated ability to lead change, service development and innovation.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment and manage competing priorities.
