About the Role

Skills for Security, a leading provider of apprenticeships to the Fire and Security sector, seeks an enthusiastic Learner Engagement Officer to support apprentices and employers. This role focuses on consolidating and recording learner progress, providing pastoral support, and conducting formal progress reviews to ensure regulatory compliance and ongoing development.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct formal progress reviews for a caseload of learners.
  • Act as the first point of contact for learners and employers, resolving queries and challenges.
  • Communicate effectively with apprentices and their employers.
  • Accurately record details of all conversations held.
  • Hold regular progress updates with apprentices and their employers.
  • Identify, report, plan, and assist where learners may require additional support.
  • Communicate with sector specialists to contextualize feedback and drive learner improvement.
  • Chase overdue interactions and work submissions.
  • Actively promote apprenticeship requirements beyond subject area specifics.
  • Identify opportunities for early interventions where support is needed.
  • Follow external stipulated rules and quality requirements.
  • Provide first-line support and effective signposting for learners and employers.
  • Drive the overall quality of education.
  • Perform exam invigilation.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on own initiative and be proactive.
  • Flexible approach to working.
  • Ability to prioritize workload effectively.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to meet set deadlines.
  • Two references required, specifically asking about suitability for roles involving responsibility for or substantial access to individuals under 18.
  • Satisfactory explanation for any gaps in CV.
  • DBS check required.
  • Proof of identity and original certificates required upon appointment.
