About the Role

This role supports surgical services by managing the end-to-end loan kit process for theatre procedures. Loan kits provide essential prostheses, instruments, and consumables required for patient surgeries, ensuring clinical teams have access to specialist equipment when needed. The team works closely with various departments and external suppliers to maintain high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the end-to-end management of loan kits required for surgical procedures, ensuring kits are available and delivered on time.
  • Review theatre bookings daily and liaise with clinical teams and suppliers to arrange appropriate equipment and prostheses for upcoming cases.
  • Receive, inspect and reconcile incoming loan kits, investigating discrepancies and coordinating resolutions with suppliers and clinical stakeholders.
  • Process purchase orders, requisitions and supporting documentation to ensure the timely payment of suppliers and accurate charging of used items.
  • Support the management of consignment stock, high-value inventory checks and reporting of loan kit activity and exceptions.

Requirements

  • Experience working within a theatre or surgical hospital environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to build relationships across clinical and non-clinical teams.
  • Strong customer service skills and a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer literacy including Microsoft Word and Excel, alongside strong attention to detail.
