About the Role

As a Product Owner Data & AI (m/w/d), you will combine product responsibility with expertise in Machine Learning, Data Science, and Generative AI. You will identify and prioritize value-adding use cases with business departments and develop innovative solutions with measurable business impact. You will oversee the entire lifecycle of modern data and AI products and act as a central interface between business, analytics, and technology. This position is a temporary role for approximately 15 months as parental leave cover.

Responsibilities

You are responsible for the roadmap of our data, analytics, and AI products and prioritize initiatives based on business value and strategic relevance.
You identify data-driven potentials together with business departments and translate business requirements into concrete AI and Machine Learning solutions.
You analyze complex datasets, develop forecasting models, and derive actionable recommendations.
You conceptualize, develop, and evaluate Machine Learning models and modern AI solutions based on LLMs, RAG, and agentic workflows.
You manage the entire product lifecycle from problem definition through development and validation to productive use.
You are responsible for the operation, monitoring, and continuous optimization of productive AI systems in modern cloud environments.
You work closely with Product, Engineering, Analytics, and other stakeholders, transparently communicating progress, risks, and results.

Requirements

Several years of professional experience in Machine Learning, Data Science, AI Engineering, or Advanced Analytics.
Experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or in a comparable role with responsibility for products, projects, or complex initiatives.
Very good knowledge of Python, SQL, and modern data science and Machine Learning frameworks.
Sound experience with Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Experience with cloud platforms, ideally AWS, and the productive operation of AI and ML solutions.
Knowledge of MLOps, CI/CD, monitoring, and the continuous development of productive systems.
Analytical strength, strong communication skills, and the ability to connect technical and business requirements.
Very good written and spoken German and English skills.
