About the Role
This role covers the glue that brings our stack together. You will understand the whole stack and work on current bottlenecks to ensure rapid building and deployment of robots. You will be responsible for bringing up robots quickly, ensuring successful commercial and residential deployments, and resolving system-wide issues.
Responsibilities
- Rapidly integrate new sensors and hardware into existing systems.
- Resolve complex bugs and unblock the stack when issues span multiple teams.
- Manage new robot builds from initial power-on through deployment, including flashing, calibration, stress-testing, and troubleshooting.
- Install, configure, and validate robots at customer locations for successful deployments.
- Engineer customer-specific integrations by configuring tasks and integrating with customer workflows, processes, and systems.
- Develop runbooks, tooling, and checklists to streamline future deployments.
- Provide prioritized feedback and bug reports based on field observations.
Requirements
- 3+ years as a systems generalist with a software focus and hardware competence.
- Ability to debug networks, read system logs and traces, and use multimeters.
- Hands-on experience with AMRs, AGVs, or complex robotic/electromechanical systems.
- Experience deploying or integrating complex physical or connected systems at customer sites.
- Demonstrated judgment and intuition for working with ambiguous situations.
- Ability to diagnose issues across mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software layers.
