About the Role

This role supports the Product and End of Day Pricing Reference Data Services team within Japan Security Settlements, which is responsible for Fixed Income and Equity Settlement for Japan securities traded globally. The main goal is to maximize settlement rates for bonds and equities on contractual settlement days to maintain market liquidity. This position offers insights into the financial industry from a settlement perspective and involves collaboration with diverse talents to address problems, market changes, and process improvement initiatives using modern technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Execute processes/functions and support process management and project efforts, leveraging knowledge of systems, markets, and instruments.
  • Recognize and address risks in daily processes, contributing to process improvements.
  • Build relationships within the team and with internal stakeholders, sharing knowledge to enhance team output.
  • Participate in projects and initiatives, aiding in solution formulation and timely execution.
  • Process Equity and Fixed Income settlement in the local market, including related cash payments.
  • Investigate and resolve settlement exceptions.
  • Investigate and resolve post-settlement breaks, both internal and external.
  • Prepare and release payment and trade instructions to custodian banks.
  • Escalate settlement process risks and implement mitigation actions.
  • Identify areas for process improvements to strengthen controls and build efficiencies.
  • Deliver quality service and solutions to meet evolving business requirements.
  • Work and contribute effectively as part of a team.

Requirements

  • Ability to establish clear goals and priorities.
  • Address non-standard issues within area of expertise with minimal guidance.
  • Subject matter expertise in the business area supported and client requirements.
  • Ensure control is not compromised to comply with client requests.
  • Act as a culture carrier across Operations, embracing the Firm's core values.
  • Bachelor degree.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Proactive and self-motivated.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills.
  • At least 2 years' relevant experience.
