About the Role
The Senior Analyst, Product Structuring & Pricing supports the design, pricing and ongoing management of AMP's retirement, guarantee and equity protection products. The role is responsible for developing and maintaining pricing, valuation and risk models, performing quantitative analysis and scenario testing, and providing insights that support product strategy, risk management and key business decisions. Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Finance, Investments, Risk and Technology, the role contributes to the enhancement of pricing frameworks, modelling methodologies and governance practices to ensure products remain financially sustainable, commercially competitive and aligned with AMP's risk framework.
Responsibilities
- Support the design, structuring and pricing of retirement, guarantee and equity protection products, ensuring alignment with customer, commercial and risk objectives.
- Contribute to the development of pricing frameworks, methodologies and assumptions, providing analytical insights to support product development and strategic initiatives.
- Develop, maintain and enhance models and analytical tools for pricing, valuation, scenario testing and risk analysis, including the review and challenge of key modelling assumptions.
- Perform quantitative analysis and translate complex outputs into clear, actionable insights to support business decision making and risk assessment.
- Perform model governance and key control activities, including documentation, validation and approval processes, ensuring compliance with risk and governance standards.
- Support the management of risks associated with guarantee and equity protection products, including model, assumption and hedging validation activities.
- Partner with Product, Finance, Technology, Investments and Risk teams to deliver business outcomes through clear analysis, recommendations and insights.
- Prepare high-quality reports and presentations for senior management and governance forums while building strong relationships across the business.
- Identify and implement opportunities to enhance models, processes, controls, reporting and overall business capability.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, share knowledge and support continuous improvement across the team.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Actuarial Studies, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Physics or a related quantitative discipline.
- Experience in market risk, actuarial, quantitative analysis, ALM, risk management or other related financial services roles.
- Experience developing, maintaining or enhancing analytical models, risk tools or pricing frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience developing analytical tools, models or process improvements using Python, VBA, SQL, MATLAB, R, C++ or similar programming languages.
- Experience applying quantitative analysis and stochastic modelling techniques to support pricing, valuation, risk assessment, investment outcomes, product values or business decision-making.
- Understanding of financial markets and financial risk management principles.
- Exposure to working with multiple stakeholders across business functions.
- Experience balancing analytical rigour with practical business outcomes.
- Progress towards or completion of professional qualifications such as FIAA, CFA, FRM, or related postgraduate quantitative study although not essential would be well regarded.
