About the Role
Western Veterinary Partners offers externships for veterinary students to gain valuable real-world experience by applying classroom knowledge in a clinical setting. Students in any grade can apply for externships as part of their clinical year or for informal experience.
Responsibilities
- Gather patient histories
- Perform physical exams
- Review estimates
- Create treatment plans
- Perform diagnostics
- Manage and perform in-house labs
- Observe or assist in surgical procedures
- Perform dental procedures
- Manage overall medical care of patients
- Practice communication skills
