About the Role

BDO's High School Leavers Program offers an alternative to university, allowing participants to start an accounting career with a paid, full-time role while earning-while-they-learn. The program involves online study with CA ANZ towards a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, with BDO covering study costs and providing paid study leave. Participants will gain practical experience, mentorship, and build a strong foundation in accounting and business over approximately four years.

Responsibilities

• Undertake online study with CA ANZ, working towards a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA).
• Begin the online study pathway towards becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant.
• Receive dedicated paid study time to help balance work and learning.
• Complete CA Fundamentals in the first year.
• Complete CA Foundations in the second year.
• Progress to the CA Program.
• Work full-time, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to real client work.
• Build a strong foundation in accounting and business through on-the-job training and mentoring.

Requirements

• Completed high school within the past three years (2024 onwards).
• Completed a Year 12 Mathematics subject.
• Strong interest in accounting, business, or commerce.
• Curious, reliable and keen to learn in a professional environment.
• Enjoy working with others and being part of a team.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have the full right to work in Australia.
• 18 years of age or older when the program starts.
