About the Role
BDO's High School Leavers Program offers an alternative to university, allowing participants to start an accounting career with a paid, full-time role while earning-while-they-learn. The program involves online study with CA ANZ towards a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting, with BDO covering study costs and providing paid study leave. Participants will gain practical experience, mentorship, and build a strong foundation in accounting and business over approximately four years.
Responsibilities
- Undertake online study with CA ANZ, working towards a Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA).
- Begin the online study pathway towards becoming a qualified Chartered Accountant.
- Receive dedicated paid study time to help balance work and learning.
- Complete CA Fundamentals in the first year.
- Complete CA Foundations in the second year.
- Progress to the CA Program.
- Work full-time, learn from experienced professionals, and contribute to real client work.
- Build a strong foundation in accounting and business through on-the-job training and mentoring.
Requirements
- Completed high school within the past three years (2024 onwards).
- Completed a Year 12 Mathematics subject.
- Strong interest in accounting, business, or commerce.
- Curious, reliable and keen to learn in a professional environment.
- Enjoy working with others and being part of a team.
- Strong communication and time management skills.
- Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or have the full right to work in Australia.
- 18 years of age or older when the program starts.
